Dell Technologies recently hosted its annual technology summit, 'Dell Technologies Forum,' bringing together Danny Elmarji, Vice President of Infrastructure Solutions for Asia Pacific, Japan, and Greater China at Dell Technologies Group, along with Taiwan Dell Technologies Group General Manager Liao Jen-hsiang, industry leaders, and global technology partners. Liao emphasized that while Taiwanese enterprises are gradually adopting AI, significant transformation challenges remain.
According to Dell Technologies' latest 'Modern Enterprise Readiness Survey 2026,' 30% of enterprises in Taiwan have established mature AI and generative AI deployments—up significantly from 12% a year earlier. However, 56% still view security, compliance, and privacy as major limiting factors in scaling AI applications, 46% face data quality and governance challenges, and 58% believe their existing data centers are not fully capable of supporting large-scale AI and data analytics workloads in production environments. As transformation complexity increases, enterprises’ expectations of technology partners have shifted from single-product suppliers to long-term collaborators—90% of surveyed enterprises are seeking partners who can co-develop business and technical strategies.
The survey reveals that 100% of enterprises feel pressure to keep pace with rapid change, while 66% are becoming more cautious in their technology investments and focusing on outcomes. The challenge for enterprises is no longer just accelerating AI adoption, but ensuring that technology investments deliver tangible value. Notably, 94% of enterprises believe that pursuing AI, workplace, and data center modernization separately increases operational complexity. Therefore, businesses need an integrated approach to modernization, where data, infrastructure, and security capabilities work in concert to build a solid foundation for scalable AI development.
Liao Jen-hsiang, General Manager of Taiwan Dell Technologies Group, stated that the true value of AI lies not in technology adoption, but in how effectively it is applied. 'From data, storage, and computing to cloud and automation, enterprises need infrastructure that adapts to different workloads and stages of development. Dell Technologies supports enterprises through end-to-end product portfolios and solutions, enabling more flexible deployment of AI and modernized workloads while maintaining control over data and IT environments.'
According to IDC's research report, 'Future-Ready Workforce: The Strategic Value and Imperative of AI PC Adoption,' 48% of enterprises in the Asia Pacific region have already deployed AI PCs, with the remainder in trial or evaluation phases. Meanwhile, 89% of IT decision-makers consider AI capability a key factor in their next PC procurement cycle, indicating that AI PCs are rapidly entering modern workplaces.
AI PCs are breaking traditional role and skill boundaries, reshaping skills and work patterns in the modern workplace. IDC’s survey identifies intelligent system search, video editing, report generation, and AI-enhanced collaboration as the most attractive AI PC applications for enterprises. When AI PC deployment reaches over 50% within a company, employees save an average of 2.17 hours per day using AI features—compared to 1.67 hours with traditional PCs—resulting in a 30% boost in productivity.
Beyond improving efficiency, shifting some AI workloads from the cloud to endpoint devices reduces inference and data transmission costs. It accelerates AI deployment and scalability without requiring massive investments in centralized infrastructure or costly hardware upgrades. Sensitive information can also be retained locally, helping reduce regulatory compliance and data governance costs.
IDC further predicts that by 2030, 50% of enterprise AI inference workloads will be processed locally at endpoints or edge nodes. As AI computing extends from the cloud to client devices, enterprise considerations for PC investment will expand beyond traditional computing performance to include productivity, cost efficiency, and security governance. Determining how to use next-generation devices to meet growing AI application demands will become a critical investment focus for enterprises shaping future work environments.
