Latest Poll: 80% of Canadians Support Retaliatory Measures Against the U.S.

A recent public opinion poll released by CTV News Canada shows record-high public support for the retaliatory trade measures against the United States that took effect this week. Eighty percent of surveyed Canadians support the government's tit-for-tat trade response to the U.S., with 59% fully supporting the measures and 21% partially supporting them.

Additionally, 75% of respondents fully support the government's prior decision not to concede to U.S. demands in trade negotiations, with another 10% expressing partial support.

Canadians are also aware that the Canada-U.S. trade war will impact their personal lives. However, the poll indicates that 70% of respondents are willing to endure price increases on everyday goods resulting from these retaliatory measures.

Furthermore, 78% of Canadians say they will actively purchase Canadian-made products, 77% say they will avoid buying American goods and services, and 47% have already canceled plans to travel to the United States.
