Background of the Event

With the widespread adoption of AI, it is no longer an option to not use it in engineering. In today's world, engineers who handle AI are required to improve their skills in areas such as ensuring the quality and quantity of data input into AI, providing precise instructions, and appropriately judging outputs. This seminar is planned to focus on "Thinking Engineering" to support engineers challenging themselves to create high-value products in this era. By sharing the approaches and thought processes of pioneers who are applying methods such as AI, machine learning, and data science to actual engineering, we aim to provide hints and guidance for everyone to take the next step.

Program Highlights

[Special Lecture] "Thinking Design" in the AI Era

Professor Zenjin Inoue of Meiji University, who researches the construction of international design systems supporting Japanese manufacturing, will give a lecture.

Focusing on the "designer's judgment ability," which remains indispensable even with the advancement of generative AI, he will explain the concept of "set-based design" for handling uncertain information within a range, and methods for exploring and visualizing the solution space, thereby presenting the role humans (engineers) should play in the AI era and the future of design support technology.
