Survey on the Reality of Independent and Home Study for Children
Developing study habits is crucial for building a foundation for academic success. Parents and children often struggle with 'independent study' homework assigned by schools, such as not knowing what to do or failing to maintain consistency. This survey, conducted in collaboration with the home study material provider 'Monthly Poppy,' targeted 69 parents of elementary school students to understand the reality of home study.
47.8% Study Every Day When asked about the frequency of home study, 47.8% of respondents answered 'every day.' Combined with those who study 'several times a week' (34.8%), 82.6% of children engage in home study multiple times a week. Conversely, about 20% of households report little to no home study.
Most Study Sessions Last 30 Minutes to 1 Hour Regarding the duration of each study session, 53.6% reported '30 minutes to less than 1 hour,' followed by 'less than 30 minutes' at 39.3%. Over 90% of children finish their home study within an hour.
