Survey on Women's Body Concerns and Interest in Aesthetic Salons Do you ever feel concerned when looking at your figure in the mirror? From age-related changes to long-standing complexes, body concerns vary for everyone. We conducted a survey with 200 women nationwide in collaboration with the Osaka-based slimming salon 'Esthe-Station' to understand their concerns, countermeasures, and impressions of aesthetic salons.

60.0% Answered They Have 'Body Concerns' When asked if they currently have concerns about their bodies, 60.0% answered 'Yes,' while 40.0% answered 'No.' Over half of the women surveyed are dealing with some form of body concern.

'Weight/Figure' at 65.8% and 'Belly Fat' at 60.0% Top the List Among those with concerns, the most common issue was 'Weight/Figure' at 65.8%, followed by 'Belly Fat' at 60.0%, and 'Hip Shape/Sagging' and 'Poor Posture' at 40.8% each. Concerns related to visual appearance ranked highest.

'Exercise/Strength Training' Was the Most Common Past Countermeasure at 49.2% When asked about past countermeasures, 'Exercise/Strength Training' was the most popular at 49.2%, followed by 'Self-directed Dieting' at 33.3% and 'Dietary Restrictions' at 26.7%.

'Exercise/Strength Training' Was Also the Most Effective at 31.9% When asked which measure was most effective, 'Exercise/Strength Training' topped the list at 31.9%. However, 29.8% stated they felt no effect from any measure.

61.7% Experienced Failure with Self-directed Methods 61.7% of those with concerns admitted to failing at self-directed dieting or exercise. The top reasons for failure were 'Rebound' (55.4%) and 'Lack of Motivation' (51.4%).

38.4% Are Interested in Aesthetic Salons, 61.6% Are Not When asked about interest in slimming salons, 38.4% expressed interest, while 61.6% did not. Those interested cited expectations for professional care, while those uninterested cited concerns over costs and aggressive sales tactics.
