Has there ever been a moment when you wished to immerse yourself in this extraordinary world?

While 'diving' may seem like a single activity, the ways to enjoy it are diverse.

Some look forward to encounters with marine life, while others are drawn to exploring mysterious underwater landscapes.

So, what kinds of underwater experiences actually captivate people's imaginations?

In collaboration with Jamming Inc., we conducted a survey targeting 123 men and women nationwide who previously indicated interest in diving, asking them: 'Which underwater scenario would you most like to experience while diving?'

◆ 1st Place: Swimming with Dolphins – 24 votes

Survey respondents shared the following comments:

・ Because I love dolphins. (Female, 20s)

・ Swimming with dolphins would be the ultimate experience. (Male, 20s)

・ Dolphins are friendly and adorable because they follow people around. (Female, 30s)

・ It’s been a lifelong dream. (Female, 40s)

・ I’d love to play with them. (Male, 60s)

The top choice was 'Swimming with Dolphins'.

Honest feelings such as 'I love them', 'they’re cute', and 'it’s a dream come true' were common across many responses.

Notably, many respondents expressed admiration for dolphins’ intelligence and friendly nature.

Their approachable charm and seemingly playful intelligence appear to hold a special appeal.

◆ 2nd Place: Being Surrounded by a School of Tropical Fish – 18 votes

Survey respondents shared the following comments:

・ Seems safer than other options. (Female, 20s)

・ I want to see that scenery. (Female, 30s)

・ It’s an unknown experience. (Female, 30s)

・ Seems safe and enjoyable. (Male, 50s)

・ I experienced it during a license training camp and it was amazing. (Male, 60s)

The second most desired experience was 'being surrounded by a school of tropical fish'.

Being encircled by vibrant fish appears to represent the quintessential 'must-see underwater scene' for many.

Interestingly, several respondents mentioned it 'seems safe'.

For those who feel uneasy about direct contact with marine life, simply observing a school of fish may feel like an accessible and enjoyable entry point.

◆ 3rd Place: Swimming Through a Coral Reef – 15 votes

Survey respondents shared the following comments:

・ Because it’s colorful and beautiful. (Male, 30s)

・ A beautiful experience. (Female, 40s)

・ I’d like to see coral spawning. (Female, 50s)

・ I once swam in a coral sea in Okinawa and was deeply moved by its beauty. (Male, 50s)

The third most desired experience was 'swimming through a coral reef'.

Words like 'colorful', 'beautiful', and 'gorgeous' frequently appeared in comments about coral reefs.

It’s clear that many harbor a strong fascination for the vivid underwater world.

Some even expressed deeper interest, such as wanting to witness the rare phenomenon of coral spawning.

◆ Tied for 4th Place: Swimming in a Blue Cave Lit by Sunlight – 12 votes

Survey respondents shared the following comments:

・ I think it offers a breathtaking view. (Female, 30s)

・ I have a diving license. Caves lit by sunlight from outside are one of my favorite spots. (Female, 30s)

・ I’ve done it before and it was amazing. (Female, 30s)

・ I want to experience the magical atmosphere. (Male, 40s)

Tied for fourth place is 'swimming in a blue cave lit by sunlight'.

In the darkness of a cave, a single beam of light from outside creates a magical scene.

Many are captivated by this surreal atmosphere, using words like 'breathtaking' and 'fantastical'.

Comments like 'it was amazing' suggest that those who have actually dived there are especially drawn to the experience.

◆ Tied for 4th Place: Swimming with Sea Turtles – 12 votes

Survey respondents shared the following comments:

・ I want to see sea turtles. (Male, 30s)

・ I saw it on a TV program. (Female, 30s)

・ I’d like to swim where there are fish and turtles. (Male, 40s)

・ I want to swim alongside sea turtles, sharing their peaceful rhythm. (Male, 70s)

・ I’d like to swim with them. (Male, 70s)

Tied for fourth place is 'swimming with sea turtles'.

The graceful sight of sea turtles gliding through the ocean seems to capture many hearts. The simple, heartfelt wish to 'swim with them' was expressed across generations.

Notably, several respondents mentioned being inspired by TV programs.

The desire to personally experience what they once saw on screen appears to have driven their votes.

◆ 6th to 10th Places

Now, let’s present the 6th to 10th places, along with some of the reasons given.

6th Place: Exploring Caves and Tunnels – 10 votes

・ Because I expect to see beautiful scenery. (Female, 30s)

・ It felt mysterious and became a lifelong memory. (Male, 50s)

・ I’m interested in marine caves. (Male, 60s)

Tied for 7th Place: Night Diving to See the Night Sea – 8 votes

・ It seems unusual and interesting. (Female, 20s)

・ The atmosphere is different from daytime. (Male, 20s)

・ I’d like to swim gracefully through the quiet sea. (Male, 30s)

Tied for 7th Place: Taking Commemorative Photos Underwater – 8 votes

・ It would look great in photos. (Female, 20s)

・ It’s an experience you can only have while diving. (Male, 20s)

・ It’s definitely Instagram-worthy. (Female, 40s)

9th Place: Exploring Seabed Formations Like Underwater Ruins – 6 votes

・ It sounds interesting. (Male, 50s)

10th Place: Wreck Diving – 4 votes

・ I want to swim a lot in the sea. (Male, 40s)

In summary, the ranking turned out as follows.

The top positions were dominated by experiences involving encounters with marine life—'dolphins', 'tropical fish', and 'sea turtles'. The desire to share space with ocean creatures appears to be a common sentiment among many.
