Nifty Corporation (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Kazunari Maejima) has conducted a survey on 'school lunches' via its children's website 'Nifty Kids' and released the report today, May 28 (Thursday). In this survey, we targeted children, mainly elementary and junior high students, and received 2,388 responses regarding the availability of school lunches and favorite menu items. Overall, 93.9% of respondents said they have school lunches. 'Age-pan' was the #1 favorite menu item, showing that the top popular items follow the same trend as previous surveys. Regarding whether they like milk, about 40% of elementary and junior high students said they 'like' it, about 40% said 'average,' and about 20% said they 'dislike' it. Furthermore, regarding the 'rice, side dish, and milk' combination, 58.1% answered that they would change it if they could choose tea or water.
