The Japan-Taiwan Tourism Promotion Council and the Taiwan-Japan Tourism Promotion Council held the '2026 Japan-Taiwan Tourism Summit in Miaoli' in Miaoli County, Taiwan, from May 28 to May 31. This 17th annual summit gathered about 200 tourism professionals, including 90 from Japan, to discuss mutual tourism exchange. Under the theme 'Towards Slow, Deep, and Mutually Enhancing Tourism,' attendees agreed on the 'Japan-Taiwan Tourism Summit Miaoli Declaration.'
