Hotel Metropolitan Kamakura, which marked its 5th anniversary in April 2025 (operated by Nippon Hotel Co., Ltd.; General Manager: Hiroko Kusano), has conducted a donation project through original 'baggage tags' as an attempt to connect this milestone of gratitude to 'Kamakura's future.' We are pleased to report that we have collected a total donation of 49,300 yen (for 56 items) thanks to the warm support of many people. The staff would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all who love Kamakura's nature and cooperated with this project.
The goodwill entrusted in these baggage tags, which give form to travel memories, becomes a reliable force supporting Kamakura's beautiful landscape. By supporting the activities of the 'Kitakama Yusui Network,' which continues to protect the springs and rich ecosystem of North Kamakura, we hope to contribute to passing on the vibrant nature that the ancient capital prides itself on to the future.
In this activity, we donated over 700 yen for each baggage tag sold, resulting in a large circle of support totaling 49,300 yen.
The entire amount of donated funds will be entrusted to the organization and will be carefully utilized for the cost of saplings such as wild cherry trees and wild hydrangeas that color Kamakura's spring, as well as maintenance costs for essential equipment (such as brush cutters) needed to nurture them healthily.
We will continue to cherish this initiative where guests, the region, and nature are loosely connected with the hotel as a base, as an activity that creates a comfortable cycle in Kamakura. We would like to express our deepest gratitude once again for your warm support.
[About the recipient organization: Kitakama Yusui Network] A citizen group aimed at regenerating Kamakura's satoyama, engaged in town development utilizing springs, and conserving the natural environment and landscape. Kamakura's unique scenery is protected by their devoted activities that value the 'nurturing process,' such as not only planting trees but also mowing underbrush and managing equipment. We deeply resonate with their passion and will donate the full amount of the collected funds.
