Scenes from the Media Tour
On June 24, a training tour for media representatives was held at the Kitakyushu Maintenance Techno Center, where actual training sessions were showcased. Practical training sessions related to maintenance work were conducted, including classroom lectures on precision measuring instruments as part of basic training, and PLC control, which involves connecting a computer and PLC to devise signal exchange and control circuits and verify operations.
Comments from Two Trainees (Excerpts)
- While searching for equipment maintenance jobs, I was attracted by the fact that I would be assigned after acquiring knowledge and skills through training, and joined the company. I had previous experience working in manufacturing sites, but I was new to the maintenance field, and I found the electrical training particularly challenging. However, I feel I am growing by resolving my uncertainties with the precise advice from instructors and cooperation among trainees.
- During my job search, I learned about equipment maintenance and became interested in "working behind the scenes to support people" as an unsung hero. The training provided by experienced instructors is thorough, and I believe it is a safe environment to learn. In particular, learning about the real dangers at the site carefully during safety education was very informative. I want to acquire solid skills through training and be active at my assigned post.
Comments from Nikken Total Sourcing Representative
In the Kyushu area, which is a hub for the automotive industry, the demand for advanced maintenance technology has been increasing, leading to the establishment of the Kitakyushu Maintenance Techno Center in April 2026. We have created an environment that supports reliable skill improvement through experienced instructors.
Going forward, we plan to focus on level-up training to further advance the skills of assigned staff members to a higher level in the coming years. We aim to make the facility valuable for both our client companies, by providing immediately employable personnel, and for our staff, by offering opportunities for continuous career advancement, thereby contributing to the industrial development of the Kyushu region.
About "Kitakyushu Maintenance Techno Center"
The Kitakyushu Maintenance Techno Center is the second training facility specializing in the development of maintenance technicians for automotive and battery production equipment, following the Toyota Maintenance Techno Center which opened in April 2025. By incorporating transport equipment that links industrial robots and transport robots (AMR), we are also looking to train logistics personnel. Furthermore, our young instructors are dispatched to automotive manufacturers to receive specialized training, ensuring an educational standard that is relevant to the field. The center is equipped with an advanced training environment to foster highly specialized human resources and improve the instructional capabilities of our trainers. We aim to develop and assign personnel who possess a high awareness of safety, health, and quality control, and who can be immediately effective in the field, contributing to the expansion of maintenance technicians and business in the Kyushu region.
