THE RAIL KITCHEN CHIKUGO to Operate Special 'Midsummer Night Local Sake & Draft Beer Train'

THE RAIL KITCHEN CHIKUGO, a train journey operated by Nishi-Nippon Railroad that lets passengers savor the local flavors, will run a special 'Midsummer Night Local Sake & Draft Beer Train' on Friday, July 10, 2026, and Friday, July 24, 2026.

Following the success of the first event, 'Shusho Sugawara', a specialty liquor store in Tenjin dealing in sake, shochu, Japanese wine, and domestic spirits, will join forces with breweries along the railway line. During the previous run, passengers enjoyed a unique experience, with comments such as, 'It was a satisfying time enjoying the special feeling of drinking on a train with a wide selection of sake while listening to the brewers' stories,' and 'It was fun drinking authentic sake and talking with the brewers!'

This time, the train will offer a different selection of sake compared to the previous event, including 'Ikokame Daiginjo Muroka' (unfiltered). The train will feature draft beer from 'Shusho Sugawara', which attracts fans from both Japan and abroad, as well as local sake and shochu from along the line, craft gin made with bamboo and indigo from Kurume, and wine from Itoshima. Brewers will also board the train on a rotating basis, allowing passengers to hear stories that are usually only heard at the breweries.

Passengers are welcome to bring their own food. It is also possible to pre-order bento boxes and hors d'oeuvres from popular tenants at Solaria Stage (Katsukokoro) and ONE FUKUOKA BLDG. (Umenohana, Pizza ar taio, Hassenkaku) for each of the two days.

The fare is 6,000 yen per adult, making it more accessible than regular operations. Please join us for a special weekend experience, listening to brewers' stories while immersing yourself in the local flavors on a relaxing train journey.
