The Foreign Resident Support Consortium (Representative Director: Tomoyuki Maeda) will host the '3rd Specified Skills Summit in Osaka' on Wednesday, June 24, 2025, in a hybrid format, both in-person and online.
This summit is a major event for the foreign human resources industry, held for the third consecutive year since 2024. The previous two events attracted a total of over 300 industry stakeholders, including registered support organizations, supervisory bodies, recruitment agencies, Japanese language institutions, and host companies, creating a significant impact as a venue for information exchange.
In 2026, Japan's foreign policy is facing a major turning point. The cabinet decision in January set a new direction based on 'expansion,' 'strictness,' and 'orderly coexistence,' leading to significant changes in system operations, such as the suspension of acceptance in the 'food service' sector due to reaching acceptance caps.
Furthermore, the technical intern training system is scheduled to be abolished next year, to be replaced by a new 'Training and Employment System,' marking a historic shift in Japan's foreign human resources policy.
During this transformative period, not only companies employing foreign nationals, but also supervisory bodies, registered support organizations, local governments, and regional banks are facing the need for major adjustments.
At this summit, Shohei Sugita, a leading expert in foreign employment law, will act as a lecturer to organize the institutional, policy, and market changes that occurred in the first half of 2026, and explain required responses and business opportunities from a practical perspective.
Additionally, the event will provide opportunities to introduce the latest utilization examples of the Specified Skilled Worker system and facilitate collaboration through networking.
