Aomori Team to Make First Appearance at DOG FES IWAKI

On May 17, 2026, the NPO Rescue Dog Trainers Association (RDTA) will open a booth and participate for the first time in DOG FES IWAKI, held at the Youth Sports Center's Multipurpose Plaza No. 1.

Aomori Prefecture has pairs certified as IRO International Rescue Dogs, and among them, an international rescue dog pair registered with RDTA is scheduled to appear. In Aomori Prefecture, there are only two pairs that have passed the Rubble A level (intermediate), and a pair from within the prefecture will rush to the booth. Additionally, a pair that has passed the Wide Area B level (advanced) is also scheduled to appear and is looking forward to interacting with the attendees of the dog festival.

At the RDTA booth, in addition to showing the search activities of the participating rescue dog pairs, they plan to display videos of world-class search operations. Furthermore, they will sell merchandise and prepare a model of a collapsed house, providing a space for commemorative photos.

They will also exhibit their deployment status, such as in the Noto earthquake, to seek understanding of search and rescue activities using rescue dogs, and also to seek understanding of the domestic MRT test to be held in November 2026.
