The NPO AQUAkids safety project (Representative Director: Emi Sugawara, located in Minamihonmachi, Chuo-ku, Osaka) will hold its water accident prevention program for children, 'Obore-Nice School!', on Sunday, May 31, 2026, starting at 1:00 PM at Tokyo Marine Nishiarai Swimming. Ahead of the summer leisure season, this event is designed to help children learn the knowledge and behaviors necessary to enjoy the water safely and avoid accidents through hands-on experience. As the creator of the water safety keyword 'Sandal Bye-Bye,' the NPO has been conducting safety classes in schools and swimming schools mainly in the Kansai region since 2020. This time, the program has been renewed as 'Obore-Nice School!' and will be held in Tokyo for the first time. On the day of the event, participants will learn about water safety through videos and quizzes in a classroom setting, followed by practical pool sessions including life jacket experience, swimming in clothes, and 'floating and waiting' practice. With the sponsorship of Koikeya Co., Ltd., we will also conduct a 'Potato Chip Bag Floating Experience.' We invite you to witness how children learn to prevent drowning through fun, practical activities, such as testing whether they can float using a bag of potato chips. Unfortunately, child water accidents have already occurred across the country this year. We hope you will cover this initiative, which focuses on 'prevention before drowning' rather than reacting after an accident occurs.
