The NPO WELgee (Representative Director: Yota Anzai) announced that Mr. P, an Afghan refugee talent supported for employment in Japan, has been hired as a full-time AI engineer at I&D Inc. (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Hirofumi Fukushige). This is the second case of I&D hiring refugee talent through WELgee. The first hire has already launched a new business, and their sincere work ethic led to this second hire. It serves as a pioneering case of a 'continuous co-creation model' where refugees are welcomed as growth partners. I&D provides various IT solutions for BtoB marketing and system development. They aim to maximize client value through data and technology, with a recent focus on AI and advanced system construction. Mr. P, who was hired as a full-time employee, served as a computer science lecturer in his home country before coming to Japan as a JICA scholar and obtaining a master's degree in Global Information and Telecommunication Studies from Waseda University. He is an engineer with over 10 years of practical experience in AI (machine learning, etc.) and full-stack development. Facing difficulties returning home due to the situation in Afghanistan, he sought to build his career in Japan. Through WELgee's 'WELgee Talents' program, he met I&D and resonated with their technical vision. Evaluated for his technical skills and character, he was officially hired on June 1, 2026.
