Niigata University of Health and Welfare, part of the NSG Group, conducted a traffic safety awareness campaign on Tuesday, May 19th, in collaboration with the Niigata Kita Police Station. This initiative was part of the university's first "Traffic Safety Week," held from May 18th (Monday) to 22nd (Friday), which was established this year. With approximately 5,000 students enrolled and about 2,000 free parking spaces on campus, many students commute by car or motorcycle. The activity was implemented with the aim of further improving traffic safety awareness and preventing accidents. On the day of the event, from 8:30 AM for about 20 minutes, Niigata Kita Police officers, approximately 20 students, and faculty members distributed traffic safety awareness flyers and pocket tissues to commuting students, urging them to comply with traffic rules and drive safely. The university plans to continue these awareness activities in cooperation with relevant organizations to improve each student's traffic safety awareness. Niigata University of Health and Welfare is one of the few comprehensive medical universities in Japan, offering six faculties and sixteen departments in nursing, medicine, rehabilitation, nutrition, sports, welfare, and medical IT. Leveraging the benefits of being a comprehensive medical university, the institution provides practical learning in "team medicine," which is essential in the medical field. Furthermore, it has established a university-wide organizational support system for qualification acquisition and employment, achieving top-class national examination pass rates and high employment records. Taking advantage of its environment with sports-related departments, the university also develops integrated learning that combines "sports" with "medicine," "rehabilitation," and "nutrition."
