[Niigata University of Health and Welfare] Professor to Lecture on New Acupuncture and Moxibustion at Niigata Citizens' University Open Course on June 19

Professor Masato Egawa from the Department of Acupuncture and Moxibustion Health Science at Niigata University of Health and Welfare, part of the NSG Group, will speak at the Niigata Citizens' University open course 'Acupuncture and Moxibustion in the New Era: Applications in Medicine, Sports, and Beauty' to be held on Friday, June 19, 2026.

This course is part of the Niigata Citizens' University continuous lecture series 'Useful? Not Useful? Still Interesting! - A World Expanded by University Learning'.

In recent years, acupuncture and moxibustion have been increasingly used not only in medical settings but also in sports conditioning, beauty, and self-care. This course will introduce the history of acupuncture and the concepts of traditional East Asian medicine, while presenting a 'new era of acupuncture' based on research findings in an easy-to-understand manner.

The lecture will also explain self-care using acupressure points (tsubo), providing tips for incorporating health-building practices into daily life.

The course is available both in-person and online, making it accessible to a wide range of generations.
