NTT East Japan Corporation (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Naoki Shibuya; hereinafter "NTT East Japan") is working to transform into an organization where each of its approximately 30,000 employees can pursue personalized careers and maximize their potential under diverse values.

However, amid business expansion and increasing diversity in values, large-scale organizations face challenges in adequately supporting individual employee growth and work engagement through traditional, uniform management practices and rule-of-thumb approaches alone.

In response to these challenges, the company will begin enhancing management practices in July 2026 by combining data and dialogue to provide individualized support for each employee.

This initiative will integrate multiple data points—including employee performance, behavioral traits, and well-being—and leverage AI-powered analysis and recommendations to support higher-quality conversations and management. The goal is to improve the quality of dialogue between managers and subordinates and achieve individually optimized career development and management.

External services will be utilized to collect data related to employee traits and well-being.

1. Background and Objectives

For sustainable performance improvement, it is essential that each employee fully utilizes their strengths and that managers provide individually tailored support. To this end, NTT East Japan has previously worked on initiatives such as supporting autonomous career development, expanding growth opportunities, and strengthening one-on-one meetings.

However, as business domains expand and workstyles diversify, employee values and preferences are becoming increasingly varied. In large organizations, traditional management based solely on managerial experience and intuition is insufficient to fully address the unique circumstances of each employee.

To address these structural challenges inherent to large enterprises, NTT East Japan is adopting a new approach: leveraging data and AI while ultimately enhancing the quality of human-centered management.

2. Overview

This initiative will deliver individually optimized dialogue support in the following areas:

- Career development and growth support tailored to each employee’s personality traits, preferences, and condition - AI-powered one-on-one meeting support and improved management quality based on both manager and subordinate personality traits and conditions - Continuous visualization of employee well-being through surveys, enabling early intervention - Ongoing monitoring of team and organizational engagement levels to detect organizational issues early

The data used will include annual performance goals and newly collected data on employee personality traits and well-being. All data will be collected with individual consent and handled in accordance with the company’s information security and privacy protection policies.

AI-generated insights are intended to support decision-making and do not replace human judgment or dialogue.

3. Implementation Timeline

Company-wide rollout will begin sequentially from July 2026.

4. Future Outlook

Through this initiative, NTT East Japan aims to build an organization where every employee can maximize their potential and continue growing autonomously.

By improving the quality of daily one-on-one interactions and management, the company will support employee challenges, achieving both performance improvement and a sense of work fulfillment. Through the evolution of dialogue-based management, NTT East Japan will foster a culture of mutual growth between employees and the organization, cultivating high practical capabilities to see initiatives through to completion.

Furthermore, NTT East Japan will strive to realize a new model where the company can fully engage with each individual employee.

For collecting data on employee traits and well-being, the company plans to introduce and utilize "Mikiwame AI," an HR service provided by Leading Mark, Inc. ※2

Additionally, to support and institutionalize daily one-on-one practices, the company will collaborate with NTT HumanEX Corporation, a group company specializing in human and organizational transformation.
