On May 21, 2026, NUCB (Nisshin, Aichi Prefecture; President: Hiroyuki Kurimoto) welcomed faculty from Iwakura High School in Taito Ward, Tokyo, to a special site visit program touring its Nagoya, Marunouchi, and Nisshin campuses. As high school education seeks to deepen inquiry-based learning, particularly through 'Comprehensive Inquiry Time,' this visit provided a cross-campus look at the case method education and English-taught professional education promoted by the university.
Nagoya Campus: Case Method Classes Fostering Proactive Thinking and Discussion At the Nagoya Campus, NUCB opened classes for its undergraduate BBA program. Through case method classes, where students actively discuss real-world business cases and make decisions from diverse perspectives, visitors observed the university's commitment to nurturing the ability to 'think, judge, and communicate independently,' rather than simply acquiring knowledge. This learning process, which focuses on raising questions, discussion, and verbalizing ideas rather than seeking a single correct answer, aligns closely with the inquiry-based learning in high schools and is attracting attention from educators.
Nisshin Campus: Professional Education in English and Global Learning Environment At the Nisshin Campus, faculty toured professional subjects taught in English, such as 'Big Data and Analytics' and 'Financial Analysis.' They also visited NUCB International College, an affiliated school on the same campus, to observe interdisciplinary classes in English, art, and science, deepening their understanding of the university's practical global education. Additionally, visitors toured the international dormitory and learning facilities to experience the diverse international student life and study environment.
Marunouchi Campus: MBA Education for Professionals and a Mock Lecture by the President At the NUCB Business School located on the Marunouchi Campus, the university opened the site of its MBA education for professionals. In addition to seeing world-class educational facilities such as classrooms equipped for English-language instruction and live streaming, visitors participated in a mock lecture and Q&A session by President Hiroyuki Kurimoto, further deepening their understanding of NUCB's educational philosophy and its practical connection to the real world.
Moving forward, the university will continue to strengthen the connection between high school and university education, working on human resource development through inquiry-based learning and international education.
About NUCB NUCB is the only higher education institution in Japan to hold the 'triple crown' of international business education accreditation (AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA).
