NVIDIA today announced a collaboration with Foxconn and leading medical centers in Taiwan to enhance the nation's healthcare system using agentic AI. Taiwan faces severe challenges, including rapid population aging and critical labor shortages in clinical settings. Given the increasing complexity of hospital operations, single-purpose AI applications are no longer sufficient.
The 'Healthy Taiwan' initiative, backed by $1.5 billion in regional investment, aims to support clinical staff and improve the quality of care. Acting as an ecosystem integrator, Foxconn is deploying the CoDoctor AI platform and nurse collaborative robots, 'Nurabot,' into clinical environments. Powered by NVIDIA NemoClaw, these tools autonomously handle clinical reasoning, documentation, treatment coordination, and logistics support.
Kimberly Powell, Vice President of Healthcare at NVIDIA, stated, "Agentic AI is the backbone of next-generation healthcare, where digital and physical AI agents collaborate with clinicians to enhance efficiency. This initiative serves as a model for healthcare systems worldwide."
CoDoctor AI currently includes department-specific agents such as: - ECG AI Agent: Enhances triage efficiency through ECG analysis. - Corovia AI Agent: Reduces 3D reconstruction time for hearts and coronary arteries from 2 hours to just 1 minute. - Endovia AI Agent: AI-powered colonoscopy support.
