Osaka City Museum of Natural History announces original merchandise and event programs for its 2026 special exhibition 'Mass Extinctions: The Big Five in Life's History,' featuring collaborations with Sumikko Gurashi, ZOIDS, and 551 Horai.

The Osaka City Museum of Natural History will host the special exhibition 'Mass Extinctions – The Big Five in Life's History,' exploring the five major mass extinction events in Earth's biological history, from Friday, July 17, 2026, to Monday, October 12 (national holiday).

Mass Extinction Exhibition Collaborative Goods

Sumikko Gurashi

We will sell goods featuring 'Sumikko' characters wearing costumes of prehistoric creatures displayed in the exhibition, such as Anomalocaris, Dimetrodon, and Steller's Sea Cow.

ZOIDS

A collaboration with 'ZOIDS' (published by TAKARA TOMY), the real-moving kit (assembly-type motorized toy) featuring mechanical lifeforms based on dinosaurs and animals.

We will sell the 'Dimepulser Rarebone VER.2025 [Dimetrodon Species],' inspired by the Dimetrodon on display, and the 'Redondagabrigator Rarebone VER.2025 [Redondasaurus Species],' inspired by Redondasaurus.

A collaboration has been confirmed with Horai Co., Ltd., the popular Osaka-based company known for '551 Horai's Butaman' (pork buns), available exclusively at the Osaka venue.
