OKI Comuechoes, Ltd. (President and CEO: Ryuji Otsuka; headquarters: Numazu, Shizuoka Prefecture), an OKI Group company responsible for marine acoustic-related businesses, will establish a new facility in Kobe in April 2027 (planned). This move aims to accelerate on-site responses and strengthen customer support for maintenance operations (overhaul business), including periodic inspections of defense-related systems.

In recent years, defense-related fields have seen increased defense budgets and initiatives to strengthen defense capabilities, raising the importance of equipment availability and maintenance. Against this backdrop, OKI is expanding its defense business both domestically and internationally, while also enhancing its maintenance and overhaul systems for defense equipment.

Previously, OKI Comuechoes responded to periodic inspections and other maintenance tasks by dispatching technicians and transporting measurement equipment from the Numazu area. In addition to existing bases in Shibaura, Kure, and Sasebo, the company strengthened its customer support by opening a new facility in Yokosuka in January 2026. Furthermore, with the planned opening of a new facility in Kobe in April 2027—located near shipyards responsible for constructing and maintaining Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force vessels—OKI Comuechoes will establish a faster and more flexible response system to support higher equipment availability and long-term stable operations.

OKI Comuechoes will enhance the speed and sophistication of maintenance operations through stronger collaboration with customers, striving to improve customer satisfaction. Leveraging its strengths in Ragidize technology (Note 1) and marine measurement engineering, the company provides integrated services from development to maintenance. With the opening of new facilities, it will further strengthen on-site customer support.

Additionally, the OKI Group will incorporate field insights and customer feedback into future technology development and product improvements, aiming to further enhance the maintainability, reliability, and quality of defense equipment.

OKI plans to begin operations at the new building of the Numazu Plant in December 2027, strengthening its production and supply systems to meet demand in defense and marine-related fields. The new facilities in Yokosuka and Kobe are part of broader efforts to enhance on-site customer support and expand maintenance and overhaul capabilities for equipment after delivery. OKI will continue to contribute to improving customer operational efficiency and safety, as well as to achieving peace of mind and security for society as a whole.
