OLA PARTY JAPAN Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo), which operates "Yoitoki (Yoitoki)," a new generation dating and marriage matching app providing AI technology and sincere value matching, conducted an "Online Survey on the Reality of Profile Creation" targeting 200 men and women aged 20-40 who have experience using matching apps. This release outlines the survey results and the direction of features currently being considered and developed based on these findings.
Survey Results: "Cannot Write" and "Cannot Convey" Are Blocking the Entrance to Marriage Hunting
The survey included multiple questions regarding profile creation on matching apps.
**64.5%** responded that they feel inadequate, or have felt inadequate, about writing their self-introduction. The reality revealed is that over 60% of users seeking encounters through matching apps harbor a sense of inadequacy about expressing themselves in writing.
Furthermore, 41.0% responded that they have stopped midway through profile input and abandoned the process. Even after deciding to register, the experience of their actions halting at the self-introduction step is not uncommon.
Additionally, 71.5% answered that they feel they are not effectively expressing their charm or values through text. It became clear that even among actively using users, a majority are continuing with the anxiety of "not knowing if it's being conveyed."
These figures suggest that despite having sufficient motivation for dating and marriage hunting, the act of "writing" itself may be one of the hurdles to taking the first step towards an encounter.
External Data Shows the Relationship Between "Profile Completeness" and Quality of Encounters
These challenges are also supported by industry-wide data.
According to the "Matching App White Paper" (n=200) released in March 2025 by LIFRELL Inc., "Conversations don't continue after matching" recorded the highest number of complaints regarding matching app usage with 85 votes. The same survey also noted comments such as "Profiles and personalities are difficult to understand," suggesting that a lack of profile information may be affecting subsequent communication.
A survey conducted in September 2025 by MMD Institute (n=30,000) indicated that men have lower matching and relationship development rates compared to women on matching apps, suggesting that profile content and presentation may influence matching opportunities. The completeness of a profile appears to affect not only the success of matching but also the progression of subsequent relationships.
"If the profile is thin, nothing follows. But I don't know how to write it." The current situation is that many users continue their marriage hunting with insufficient profiles, leaving this contradiction unaddressed.
In Response to the Survey: From "Writing" to "Talking." Development of Automatic Profile Creation Function via AI Voice Dialogue
Based on the results of this original survey, Yoitoki is embarking on the development of a new feature that automatically generates profiles through voice dialogue with AI.
In response to the 71.5% of users who stated, "I'm not good at writing self-introductions" or "I can't express myself well in text," the aim is to reduce the psychological burden of profile creation by transforming the act of "writing" into the experience of "talking."
Development is underway to extract information such as hobbies, work, how to spend holidays, and thoughts about the future through natural conversation with AI, with profiles being completed in a short dialogue. Resolving the 41.0% experience of stopping at the self-introduction step after registration is the starting point for development.
Yoitoki believes that lowering the psychological hurdle when starting dating and marriage hunting leads to more opportunities for encounters. We will continue to develop features based on user realities.
