In Sakura City, Tochigi Prefecture, which is welcoming the cherry blossom season, Juchi Ommaruyama Hotel Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Sakura City, Tochigi Prefecture; President: Tadahiro Kobayashi), which operates the onsen accommodation facility "Ommaruyama Hotel," has launched the first phase of its "Sakura Project" to promote the charm of the region's cherry blossoms.
With the desire to deliver a spring stay experience befitting a town that bears the name "sakura" (cherry blossom), we have planned accommodation plans themed on cherry blossoms, such as a "Sakura Bath" that utilizes cherry trees from the group's golf course, "Seven Hundred Club," which have aged, completed their role, and been felled.
For the Sakura Bath, staff have written messages for those starting a new life on 100 pieces of bath wood cut into the shape of cherry blossoms, which are floated in the bathtub.
This initiative began with the desire to contribute to sustainable community development through a stay experience that utilizes local resources as new tourism resources.
The processing of the bath wood was done in collaboration with the local woodworking facility "Sugi Interior Mokkokan." This is an "upcycling" initiative where the golf course and hotel collaborate, utilizing local woodworking technology to give new value to and reincarnate resources that are no longer used.
We hope that our guests will be able to welcome the season of new beginnings with a cheerful feeling.
