Omron Ventures Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Daisuke Kamiya) announces that it has entered into an investment agreement with Smart Craft Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and CEO: Fumiya Ukibe).
Smart Craft is a startup dedicated to promoting the smart factory initiative by leveraging technology to drive digital transformation (DX) on manufacturing floors, with the mission of 'Creating a New Standard for the Manufacturing Industry.'
In Japanese manufacturing lines, many processes remain labor-intensive, and analog information management such as paper is still widespread, posing significant challenges for productivity improvement and technical skill inheritance.
Smart Craft provides a manufacturing DX platform called 'Smart Craft,' which offers a one-stop solution for managing data, from work instructions and progress monitoring to the aggregation of performance data.
To address these on-site challenges where productivity improvement is increasingly critical, Smart Craft contributes to the DX of manufacturing floors by facilitating real-time data management and utilization through IT.
Under the 'GENBA DX Strategy' outlined in its mid-term roadmap 'SF 2nd Stage,' Omron aims to solve challenges on the manufacturing floor by combining data obtained from its strength—devices—with other site data to convert them into valuable information. Through this initiative, Omron will further advance the utilization of data related to devices, people, and processes on the site to accelerate the realization of 'GENBA DX'.
