Tamagawa Onsen to Host Disaster Preparedness Workshop for Rainy Season and Typhoons

Onsendojo Co., Ltd. (Tokigawa-town, Saitama Prefecture; Representative Director: Toshiki Yamazaki) will host a 'Disaster Preparedness Workshop' on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at its hot spring facility, the Showa-retro style 'Tamagawa Onsen' (Tokigawa-town, Saitama Prefecture).

This workshop, organized with the support of the local fire department, provides attendees with the opportunity to learn about disaster prevention through lectures and hands-on experience in building sandbags and understanding their effectiveness. The event also features activities for children, such as trying on firefighter uniforms and taking photos with a fire truck.

Localized heavy rainfall and subsequent water-related disasters are increasing across Japan. Tokigawa-town itself suffered damages in 2022 due to heavy rain, including landslides and river flooding. Ahead of the upcoming rainy season, the facility recognizes the importance of anticipating and preparing for various disaster scenarios and has decided to conduct the workshop at this time.

Activities: Sandbag making, lectures on disaster prevention, firefighter uniform trial for children, photo sessions with a fire truck.
