Panasonic Corporation held its 8th 'Protection Dog and Cat Adoption Fair 2026' on April 18-19, 2026, at Tokyo Ariake TFT Hall 500, providing a venue for rescued animals to meet new families. This event has been held since 2022 with the goal of realizing a society where humans, dogs, and cats can live happily together as a family (Operational cooperation: Asahi Shimbun's sippo editorial department).
The event not only provided a matching venue for potential adopters but also served as an educational platform on the background of rescue animal issues. 193 dogs and cats participated, resulting in 79 adoption (trial) applications as of May 12, 2026.
A total of 478,281 JPY was collected through SNS charity campaigns, donations to participating groups, and charity market sales, all of which will be donated to animal protection groups for veterinary and operational expenses. In addition, a separate SNS charity campaign held from March 27 to April 29 will donate another 300,000 JPY.
The event featured talk stages with veterinarians and protection groups, lectures by photographer Mie Inumaru and illustrator Coony, a photo exhibition, a charity market, and a Panasonic product experience zone.
