Current university students conveyed the "appeal of learning" in their own words, reconfiguring the highly specialized environment of a university into a stage where children can proactively explore.

This event was led from planning to on-site operation by students belonging to "Kyōikukai," which supports university students' learning, and "Toyo University SDGs Ambassadors." Pendemy participated in the form of public relations support and partial on-site operational cooperation for the students' proactive initiative to make the university, a specialized research institution, an "aspirational place" for local children. Approximately 50 elementary school students participated on the day, spending time engaging with academics and social issues through interaction with current university students.

Guided by current Toyo University students, they toured the vast campus. While walking through lecture halls and facilities not normally accessible, children had the opportunity to experience the scale of the university firsthand.

Students Reconfigure University Assets for "Next-Generation Learning," Industry-Academia Collaboration Leveraging Proactivity

This initiative is an example of students utilizing their learning field (facilities, equipment, knowledge) as educational resources that elementary school students can be passionate about. From a student's unique perspective, they translated research content, campus nature, and their own experiences into hands-on programs for parents and children, directly delivering the realization that "a university is a place where you can learn interesting things" to local children.

The following programs were implemented on the day, produced by the students:

Campus Exploration Tour: Guided by current Toyo University students, they toured the vast campus. They introduced university spaces not normally accessible in a friendly manner unique to students.

SDGs Mock Class: Student ambassadors conducted a quiz competition, adapting their learning for elementary school students. The design focused on accumulating "discoveries" rather than just seeking "correct answers."

Trash Sorting Game: Participants experienced sorting according to actual university rules. Together with the students, they considered what can be done for a sustainable society starting from everyday life.

School Cafeteria Experience: Experience Toyo University's cafeteria, known as "the most delicious school cafeteria in Japan." It was an opportunity to experience the real atmosphere of university life while chatting with university students.

At the end of the program, a "Certificate of Completion" was awarded as proof of their hard work throughout the day. This successful experience boosts children's self-esteem and motivation to learn.
