The diagnostic content creation cloud "Yomitoru" (operated by Pickles Inc., Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, President: Minoru Tanaka) was introduced as a personalized diagnostic tool to optimize parent-child experiential events for JTB Inc.'s new business "OYACONET." At a career experience event held in Nagasaki Prefecture, approximately 80% of parents from about 40 families who visited the booth experienced the diagnostic, and all survey respondents indicated an intention to use it again, showing promising results for "personalization of experiences."

Background: "The Era of Personalizing Experiences"

JTB's new business initiative, "OYACONET," is a service that supports family experiential activities. The company aims for "personalization of experiences." This is not merely "matching" experiences, but rather enhancing the quality of learning from the same opportunity by changing the "method" and "approach" according to each individual.

Comment from Hiroyuki Takaoka, Manager of Planning and Development, Planning and Development Produce Center, JTB Inc.

"Even if you take a 5th-grade brother and a 2nd-grade sister to the same place, one of them will get bored. If they were given 'missions' tailored to their respective levels and interests, both could enjoy it. While individual optimization is already progressing in the world of learning, we believe experiences will also be personalized in the future. As an entry point, we first needed a diagnostic tool."

Deciding Factor for Implementation

Initially, there was a plan to implement the functionality from scratch on the website, but a trial event was suddenly decided, creating a situation where time and cost could not be spared. While searching for existing tools, they discovered "Yomitoru."

Comment from Mr. Takaoka

"Upon closer inspection, we realized that 'everything we wanted to do could be achieved with a diagnostic tool.' We chose Yomitoru because it was inexpensive, had multiple logic options that seemed easy to assemble, and the response to our initial inquiry was speedy. Most importantly, the fact that they empathized with our business during the first meeting and we felt we could move forward together was a major factor."

A personalized diagnostic titled "Otona no Maho Gakko Challenge" was created. By answering questions about the child's "age," "personality type," and "abilities to develop," a "parental engagement mission" is presented based on the results. The design aims to make it an opportunity for parents and children to grow together, with not only children but also parents participating.

Comment from Mr. Takaoka

"In similar events held previously, many parents would rest or have idle time while their children were experiencing activities. Therefore, we thought about how we could create an opportunity for parents and children to enjoy themselves and gain new insights, which led to the idea of a personalized diagnostic that presents 'missions.'"

Approximately 2 weeks

Comment from Mr. Takaoka

"We also received feedback saying that it allowed us to draw out 'children's true feelings and honest impressions,' which are usually difficult to hear. Although the number of participants was small in the trial, we were able to provide the intended service, and confirmed high user interest and satisfaction, leading to future business development."

Customer Feedback: Ease of Creation and Support

Comment from Mr. Takaoka

"The biggest surprise (or rather, the感動) was how smoothly it could be created. After a simple online lecture, I was able to create it without looking at the manual at all. They provided online support about three times in a short period, accompanying us from the overall design to checking the final output, so we were able to launch with peace of mind."

Future Outlook

Comment from Mr. Takaoka

"The diagnostic tool is an indispensable entry point for us to achieve our goal of 'providing personalized experiences.' We plan to continue utilizing it in various situations and leverage the collected user data for our business."
