Pigeon Corporation (Headquarters: Tokyo; President: Ryo Yano) and Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture (Mayor: Shigeru Udate) signed a 'Partnership Agreement on the Promotion of a Child-Centered Morioka City' and a 'Memorandum of Understanding on the Supply of Goods During Disasters' on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. This agreement aims to realize a society where children can lead physically, mentally, and socially happy lives. By mutually utilizing resources, the parties will promote the provision and utilization of products nearing their expiration dates to contribute to food loss reduction during normal times. Furthermore, a system has been established to rapidly and preferentially supply infant products such as 'Disaster Nursing Cups' and 'Oshiri Nap' (baby wipes) in the event of a disaster. Leveraging Pigeon's expertise, know-how, resources, and services, the partnership aims to create a 'baby and child-friendly' community where families can live with peace of mind, both in normal times and in emergencies. Morioka City formulated the 'Morioka City Children's Plan' in March 2025, and through this agreement, it will strengthen the system for citizens, private businesses, and the administration to support children and child-rearing across the entire region.
