Pixiv Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya, Tokyo; CEO: Yasuhiro Niwa; hereinafter 'Pixiv') will co-host the creative contest 'Good Manner Creative Award' with the nonprofit organization Shibuya Future Design (Headquarters: Shibuya, Tokyo; hereinafter 'Shibuya Future Design') starting Monday, July 13, 2026.
Official Website: https://www.pixiv.net/contest/goodmannercreativeaward
This contest is part of the Shibuya Good Manner Project led by Shibuya Future Design. It aims to promote a new value where 'solving social issues = cool style' from Shibuya, transforming local 'manners' into cool 'actions' through creativity. The contest features two categories: the 'Clean Action Division,' which encourages fun and creative works to promote urban cleanliness, and the 'Customer Action Division,' which fosters mutual understanding in shops and public spaces. Original illustrations and graphic works are welcome.
Judges include Zeebra, a hip-hop activist and Tourism Ambassador for Shibuya Ward; Eri Sugaura, Deputy Mayor of Shibuya Ward; and Makoto Honma, Chairman of Shibuya Central Street and Chair of the Shibuya District Beautification Promotion Committee. The judging criteria will include practicality and social impact, focusing on how well entries creatively solve real-world problems and resonate with Shibuya's unique urban culture.
Winning works will be announced at the SIW2026 Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, November 3, and will be displayed on large digital screens across Shibuya and at the upcoming Shibuya Art Festival 2026 in November 2026, enriching the city's visual landscape.
Going forward, Pixiv will continue to host various events that support social issue resolution and empower creators, under its mission to create spaces that accelerate creativity.
Judge Comments
Zeebra, Hip-Hop Activist / Tourism Ambassador, Shibuya Ward
"Throughout my activities in Shibuya, I've participated in clean-up efforts and community initiatives. I've come to realize that the charm of our city isn't created solely by the government or a few individuals—it's sustained by the actions of each and every person.
Not littering, showing respect to workers—these seemingly ordinary behaviors are actually vital elements in shaping the culture of our city.
For this award, I hope to see works that use creativity to shift people's awareness and behaviors around social issues like littering and customer harassment.
Not 'I follow manners because I have to,' but 'I want to do it because it's cool.' I hope we can send this new value from Shibuya. I'm excited to see your free and bold ideas."
Eri Sugaura, Deputy Mayor, Shibuya Ward
"Shibuya Ward is actively working on various initiatives to prevent public drinking, smoking, littering, and graffiti, and to create a safe and comfortable environment for all. However, a truly attractive city cannot be built solely through regulations and rules. What's most important is that each individual feels empathy toward the city and its people, and thinks, 'I want to take action too.'
This award is a very Shibuya-like initiative—transforming urban cleanliness issues like littering and graffiti, and challenges in mutual understanding such as customer harassment in shops and public spaces, into positive actions through creativity.
When administration sets the rules and creativity moves people's hearts, manners can evolve from something 'to be enforced' into a culture 'naturally practiced.' I hope this synergy will lead to a Shibuya where everyone feels safe and welcome.
I look forward to seeing impactful works born from your unique perspectives that can inspire behavioral and attitudinal change in many people."
Makoto Honma, Chairman, Shibuya Central Street / Chair, Shibuya District Beautification Promotion Committee
"Every day, we work alongside local residents and business owners to keep Shibuya clean and safe. Through this, I've learned that the city's environment isn't shaped by one person alone—it's supported by the actions of everyone, including visitors.
For this award, I hope to see everyday manners like 'not littering' and 'considering others' expressed as compelling, creative works that inspire people to act without hesitation.
Shibuya is a city visited by people from all over the world. I hope the works born here will touch many hearts and help turn good manners into a new cultural identity for Shibuya."
