Immersive Concert 'Planetarium Concert -A Classic Tour of Monet-' Combining Monet's World of Paintings with Music Extends Its Run

It has been decided to extend the run and hold additional performances of 'Planetarium Concert -A Classic Tour of Monet-', which is currently being highly acclaimed at Konica Minolta Planetaria TOKYO (Yurakucho, Tokyo). This performance is a special planetarium concert where you can enjoy a live string quartet performance centered on the music of Debussy and Ravel, who were contemporaries of the representative Impressionist painter Claude Monet. The 360-degree visuals that envelop the entire dome feature imagery inspired by the world of Monet's paintings—light, color, and the expression of passing time—delivering an immersive Impressionist experience, as if 'appreciating' the works along with the starry sky and music.

Tour the World Monet Lived in with Classical Masterpieces

This performance looks back on Monet's life with the music of composers who were his contemporaries. It begins with Satie's 'Gymnopédies,' which evokes scenes from his childhood, and features many well-known masterpieces such as Debussy's 'The Girl with the Flaxen Hair' and 'Clair de Lune'.

The 360-degree, full-dome visuals feature imagery inspired by the world of Monet's paintings—light, color, and the expression of passing time—projecting Monet's journey.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of Monet's death. Please enjoy a rich time immersing yourself in Monet's life and artistic world while looking up at the visuals and listening to the music in the immersive space unique to a planetarium.

An Extraordinary Planetarium Concert to Savor a String Quartet

This performance features a special string quartet, KokonQuartet (Watanabe Hiro STRINGS), consisting of two violins, a viola, and a double bass.

Unlike a typical string quartet, the use of a double bass allows for the reproduction of piano pieces that require a wide range from low to high notes and orchestral pieces that require sound pressure, all in a string arrangement unique to this performance. Please enjoy the ensemble unique to a string quartet resonating within the starry sky.
