Nara, an ancient capital where history and traditional culture live on.

There are many attractions, from visiting temples, shrines, and historic sites, to popular and classic spots.

Original landscapes like one's hometown, and charming back alleys that breathe with life.

The historical landscape of Asuka and Fujiwara, and the moments encountered while walking ancient roads.

Nara has many landscapes that make you feel "Japanese-ness," such as the colors of the four seasons, the vermilion of temples and shrines, the green of ancient roads, and the calm colors of the townscape.

Expressions of Nara that have not been widely introduced before are also welcome.

We look forward to many submissions!

Follow the official Nara Prefecture Tourism Promotion Instagram account (@narakankopuromo)

Step 2

☑ Photos taken by you within Nara Prefecture between January 1, 2026, and September 30, 2026

☑ Hashtag "#OshiNaraPhotoContest2026"

☑ Submission is complete when you post the month and year of shooting and the shooting spot name (municipality)!

If possible, please also include the time of shooting and your desired prize (optional).

Application Overview

Number of submissions: Unlimited (one award per person)

* If multiple photos are included in one post, the first photo will be considered for the award.

Eligibility:

1. Photos must be taken by you within Nara Prefecture. 2. Photos must have been taken between January 1, 2026 (Thu) and September 30, 2026 (Wed). 3. Applicants must have an Instagram account and a domestic address for prize shipping if they win.

Winners will be selected in four divisions based on area.

Award Prizes

Presents

In the first phase, spring and summer, approximately 25 people will receive Nara specialty products!

Excellent works of about 6 people will be selected from each area.

The second phase, a photo contest for autumn and winter, is also planned!

Autumn/Winter KV

In the second phase, we plan to solicit photos mainly of autumn and winter.
