Saitama Prefecture is working with professional top sports teams in the prefecture, including Urawa Reds, to promote initiatives aimed at realizing a decarbonized society.

In order to raise awareness of how global warming and climate change are impacting sports and to encourage students to consider daily actions they can take to support decarbonization, the prefecture has co-created environmental learning materials for elementary and junior high school students with Urawa Reds.

These materials will be used to conduct study sessions for Urawa Reds Academy players and will also be distributed to public elementary and junior high schools within the prefecture.

1. Overview of the Learning Materials

(1) Title

"For the Future of Sports: Spreading the Decarbonization Movement with Urawa Reds"

(2) Target Audience

Elementary and Junior High school students

(3) Features

These materials address the impacts of global warming and climate change, as well as solutions, through the familiar perspective of sports. Solutions introduced include hydration using personal bottles during exercise and wearing environmentally friendly apparel.

Furthermore, Urawa Reds players are featured in the materials.

2. Usage Plans for the Materials

(1) Study Session for Urawa Reds Academy Players

Study sessions based on these materials will be held for junior players affiliated with the Urawa Reds Academy. For media inquiries, please contact the Urawa Reds representative listed in "3. Inquiries."

- Date & Time: Sunday, June 14, 2026, 15:00 - 15:30 - Location: Reds Land (1771 Shimo-Okubo, Sakura-ku, Saitama City) - Participants: 33 junior players (elementary students)

(2) Distribution to Public Elementary and Junior High Schools in the Prefecture

Digital versions of the materials will be distributed to students at a total of 1,192 municipal elementary and junior high schools and the prefectural Ina Gakuen Junior High School (as of April 1, 2026). The materials can be read individually on students' personal learning terminals.
