Shizuhō Funaki (Funaki Shizuhō) is a glass artist celebrated for her works that enrich everyday life.
Born in Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture, Funaki grew up in a family of potters known for Busan ware, yet she chose glass as her medium and forged her own artistic path. After graduating from university, she trained in blown glass at a small factory in Osaka and has since dedicated her career to crafting functional tableware.
This exhibition showcases glassware by Funaki drawn from the museum's collection, alongside related materials.
