The National Alps Azumino Park Horigane-Hotaka Area in Azumino City, Nagano Prefecture, will host the 'Summer Alps Adventure: Cool & Refreshing Water Party' from July 18 to August 30, 2026. The event includes three water-based activities in ponds fed by mountain streams, as well as an exhibition of fish taxidermy.
Splash Pool
A water play area filled with fresh water from the Northern Alps. Guests can freely use water toys such as water guns and large water balls at no cost.

Rainbow Trout Catching
Catch rainbow trout released into the pond with bare hands. Staff will clean the fish on-site, and participants can grill and eat them over charcoal.
◇ Dates: Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays from July 18 to August 30, 2026, plus daily from August 11 (Mon, Holiday) to August 16 (Sun)

Water Adventure
An aquatic obstacle course set up in tiered ponds. A full-scale adventure event where visitors can enjoy water play to the fullest.

◇ Registration: 10:00–11:40, 13:00–15:10
◇ Experience Time: 5 minutes per session
◇ Capacity: Approximately 10 people per session

◇ Fee: 500 yen per person
◇ Eligibility: Ages 4 and up (preschoolers must be accompanied by a paying guardian)
◇ Weather: Canceled in rain
Gyogyoten (Fish Fish Exhibition)
Exhibits approximately 200 species of fish, including both saltwater and freshwater varieties, through taxidermy and specimens. This year features many rare and dangerous fish.

Additionally, the park will feature a floating sapphire flower garden (best viewing: late July to late September), a sunflower maze (best viewing: mid-August), and craft experiences and a special exhibition titled 'Cute Medaka and Goldfish' at Azumino School.
