☞ Togo Murano and The Prince Kyoto Takaragaike's 40 Years

At the end of 1983, architect Togo Murano visited Takaragaike for the first time. It is said that he visited the site several times, and his repeated sketching was filled with the spirit of dedicating his final years.

Murano passed away the following year before the hotel's completion, but his disciples inherited his will, and in October 1986, a donut-shaped hotel harmonizing with the surrounding nature was born on this site.

Its soft design, which makes extensive use of curves, still invites guests to moments of relaxation.

Murano also had a strong image of this hotel as an "international first-class hotel." As a hotel in the convention area "Takaragaike," it has served as a stage for various conferences, academic meetings, and parties since its opening, welcoming many guests, including international dignitaries. The accumulated history will continue to be passed down to the staff as a precious legacy that breathes life into hospitality.
