Kawagoe Prince Hotel (located at 1-22 Niimoto-cho, Kawagoe City, Saitama Prefecture, General Manager: Manabu Takenaka) will host the special 35th-anniversary performance 'Kinpare ~ What Will Rakugo and Drawing Do? ~' on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 (a national holiday).
This event celebrates 35 years since the hotel's opening in 1991, expressing gratitude to the local community and delivering culture and inspiration. It features an unprecedented collaboration between Kin Shiotani, an illustrator and writer known for her unique perspective on Japan's regional charms, and Tatekawa Seinosuke, a rakugo artist active on Nippon TV's 'Shōten' manzai segment. The performance will blend lighthearted conversation, live drawing demonstrations, and a traditional rakugo story passed down from the Edo period—creating an experience available nowhere else.
Prior to the performance, guests will enjoy a Japanese-Western-Chinese lunch buffet prepared by the hotel's chefs. Over 20 dishes will be served, including live-performance menu items such as 'Roast Beef from Beef Loin,' 'Croque Monsieur,' and 'Crème Brûlée,' offering a high-quality experience unique to the hotel.
Through the fusion of 'rakugo,' beloved across generations, and 'art,' created with free-spirited imagination, this new form of entertainment will deliver smiles and感动 to the local community, while providing an experience only a hotel can offer.
