Promotool Co., Ltd., a scent technology company that scientifically designs scents, announced that Haruno Suzuki, the first graduate of its perfumer training program, officially joined the company in May 2026. Along with its business expansion, the company has started recruiting for the second class of its Next-Generation Perfumer Training Program. This unique 4-year selective program targets science students and graduates under 29 who aim to become world-class perfumers. Under the guidance of leading perfumers like Takeshi Watanabe at the Scent Technology Laboratory, students master scientific approaches including molecular structure analysis of scents, physical chemistry of fragrances, AI-driven profile optimization, and spatial diffusion design, utilizing a library of over 3,000 scents, analytical equipment, and robotic rapid prototyping. Haruno Suzuki, who majored in applied chemistry at Seikei University and studied cell molecular devices, joined Promotool in April 2026 after gaining experience at a specialty boutique. She noted that perfumery is a scientific profession utilizing chemistry, biology, and data science. Promotool aims to train professionals who interpret scents as data to develop logical formulations.
