The Japan Packaging Institute and the Paper Recycling Promotion Center held a joint seminar on May 26, 2026, titled 'Shall We Think About the Future of Paper Recycling Together?'. While the shift toward paper packaging is accelerating, new challenges such as 'miscellaneous paper' remaining in combustible waste and complex material issues have emerged. The seminar discussed the importance of viewing the entire process from material design to recycling as a single entity. Mr. Ide from the Japan Packaging Institute emphasized the importance of sharing awareness across industries. Subsequently, Mr. Masatomo Kawakami of the Paper Recycling Promotion Center and Mr. Motoichi Uchimura of Pack Yell Co., Ltd. gave lectures on the current state of paper recycling and the importance of 'Design for Recycling'. Both organizations plan to continue these dialogues to build a sustainable circular society.
