Survey: Cat Owners 3.6 Times More Likely Not to Vaccinate Than Dog Owners

Pet Medical Support Co., Ltd., provider of "PS Insurance," conducted a survey among 1,724 pet owners regarding mixed vaccines. While over 80% of dogs receive initial vaccines, 24.7% of cat owners choose not to vaccinate their adult cats, a rate 3.6 times higher than dog owners (6.9%). This discrepancy is attributed to cats often living indoors, reducing perceived infection risk. Dog owners frequently vaccinate due to facility requirements, whereas cat owners cite saving treatment costs as a key motivator.
