PTC's Codebeamer Supports Mazda's Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) Development

PTC announced that Mazda Corporation has adopted PTC’s ALM solution, Codebeamer®, to support its software-defined vehicle (SDV) development. By leveraging Codebeamer to standardize requirements, testing, and validation processes, Mazda aims to ensure end-to-end traceability and accelerate product development while maintaining compliance with various automotive industry standards.

Codebeamer enables efficient workflows and early issue detection, while consistently managing and integrating model-based development (MBD) data, requirements, and validation results. This means that each stage of automotive development is interconnected and managed with consistency. With such visibility and transparency, development teams can quickly identify and resolve issues, reduce the risk of errors, and contribute to meeting industry regulations.

Tomohiko Adachi, Technical Fellow of the Vehicle Development Division at Mazda Corporation, stated, "As vehicles become increasingly software-driven, it is important for product development teams to work in a connected and disciplined development environment. Codebeamer applies strict checkpoints in safety-critical development, helping to reduce risks in later stages of development. By leveraging an integrated product data foundation, Mazda expects to build a project knowledge base that replaces fragmented legacy tools, thereby improving quality and compliance, and enabling the reuse of design decisions and test results.
