Rakuten Card Co., Ltd. (hereinafter 'the Company') will open the 'Rakuten Card Nagasaki Office (tentative)' (hereinafter 'Nagasaki Office') in Nagasaki City, Nagasaki Prefecture, by December 2026.
To date, the Company has built its system development and operations centered on its Fukuoka base, striving for business expansion and enhanced service value. This new Nagasaki Office will be established to further expand operations, improve service quality, and strengthen BCP (Business Continuity Planning), serving as a strategic hub to ensure sustainable competitiveness in the AI era.
While the IT industry is increasingly leveraging AI for development and operational efficiency, the Company's system division maintains in-house development and operations to ensure high quality. We place strong emphasis on cultivating talent who can independently identify challenges, engage deeply with technological fundamentals, and continuously learn and grow over the long term.
Nagasaki Prefecture and Nagasaki City offer robust corporate incentives and are home to national and prefectural universities with strong programs in IT-related fields, making the region ideal for sustained recruitment of high-level IT talent. In Nagasaki, where many individuals seek long-term, locally rooted careers, the Company aims to foster both employee retention and professional growth, thereby establishing a development framework capable of continuously creating value over the medium to long term.
The Nagasaki Office will be located in the NBC Building, within the Nagasaki Station Area Land Readjustment Project zone, just a 3-minute walk from JR Nagasaki Station, offering excellent accessibility. With an office area of approximately 630㎡ and around 50 workstations, the workspace will follow the same concept and design as the Company's Tokyo and Fukuoka offices, promoting employee performance and organizational collaboration.
Since launching the 'Rakuten Card' in July 2005, the Company has continuously advanced its services through digital innovation.
Going forward, the Company will continue to respond to evolving social conditions and diverse customer needs by further enhancing its services and features, aiming to support comfortable and enriched daily lives through secure and user-friendly financial services.
