The Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Arts Council Tokyo, a Public Interest Incorporated Foundation, are implementing the "Overseas Dispatch Program for Art Management Personnel" to send young art management professionals, who will play a role in connecting artists and society in the future, for short-term dispatches to overseas festivals and similar events.

For the second round in fiscal year 2026, we will dispatch participants to the Toronto International Film Festival, known as North America's largest film festival. This festival, which is also positioned as a prelude to the Academy Awards, screens over 300 films annually. The official market "TIFF: The Market," newly established from 2026, will gather industry professionals from various countries, allowing participants to experience the entire film industry in a short period.

We look forward to applications from young film industry professionals who aspire to international development.

(In fiscal year 2026, dispatches to a total of 7 regions are planned.)

Destination: The 51st Toronto International Film Festival

Purpose and Objective The aim is to dispatch participants to coincide with the opening of the Toronto International Film Festival, gain an international perspective through networking with industry professionals gathered at the festival and its concurrent market, and deepen their knowledge of the film industry to connect to future activities.

Examples of Activities during Stay Visiting screening viewings at the film festival, pitches at the market, industry conference visits, meetings with industry professionals, participation in networking events, etc.

Dispatch Period September 10 - September 17, 2026 (planned) (maximum 7 nights local stay)

Number of Participants Approximately 3 people

Target Participants Film industry professionals, mainly young individuals (film festival directors, producers, film directors, screenwriters, technical/production staff, film media/critics, etc.)
