The Kahala, Yokohama (Location: 1-1-3 Minatomirai, Nishi-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa / General Manager: Yasutoshi Abe), with its brand concept of "Timeless Luxury – Forget time, transcend time, mark time –", will host a one-day-only cocktail event, "The Session #28 –No.8 Night–", on August 8, 2026, at THE KAHALA Lounge.

"The Session" is a collaborative event series that invites renowned top bartenders to showcase their creativity and skills. By intertwining the individuality of guest bartenders with the unique space and ingredients of our hotel, we create special experiences that can only be savored on that day, at that moment. For the 28th installment, we welcome Minato Fukami, Head Distiller from "NUMBER EIGHT DISTILLERY," an urban micro-distillery operated by HUGE Inc. within Yokohama Hammerhead. He will present four special cocktails using NUMBER EIGHT GIN - Yokohama Dry Gin. The hotel and the distillery, both continuing their craftsmanship in the Minatomirai area, will converge with the bartender's sensibility to create a unique flavor for this day. A drink encountered at the hotel becomes an opportunity to discover the city. We will deliver such a Yokohama-exclusive experience through this one-day-only session.

Minato Fukami Profile

Born in Kumamoto Prefecture. Entered the food and beverage industry after working part-time at a bar during his student years. At HUGE Inc., he worked on the front lines as a bartender while also being involved in product development and new store openings. In 2019, he was appointed as the Japan Ambassador for FEVER-TREE, becoming involved in seminars and events. In the same year, he also became the Head Distiller at the urban micro-distillery NUMBER EIGHT DISTILLERY, where he crafts gin. He is active as a hybrid bartender, also participating in charity events with volunteers.

About NUMBER EIGHT GIN - Yokohama Dry Gin-

An original gin produced at NUMBER EIGHT DISTILLERY, located adjacent to the restaurant "QUAYS pacific grill" within Yokohama Hammerhead. In honor of the distillery's name, it uses eight types of botanicals and ginjo sake lees shochu. The concept is craft gin produced by a restaurant. As it also houses a brewery and roastery, it uses eight ingredients including hops and coffee beans, yerba buena from a contract farmer used in the popular "Mojito" cocktail, and avocado seeds used in Mexican cuisine.
