Rist Co., Ltd. (Kyoto, Japan; President: Kei Nagano) announced that Katsuya Takenouchi, a Kaggle Grandmaster belonging to the company, won 3rd place individually and a gold medal in the "BirdCLEF+ 2026" competition held on the data analysis platform "Kaggle."

Sponsored by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and held from March to June 2026, "BirdCLEF+ 2026" challenged participants to build AI models that automatically identify wildlife species from continuous audio recordings in the Pantanal wetlands of Brazil. This achievement was made among 5,023 participants.

Takenouchi commented, "I focused on model diversity and effectively utilized AI tools as assistants, which led to the result." Rist has been implementing "Kaggle hiring" since 2020 and maintains the "Rist Kaggle Team," composed of top-tier global AI talent.
