Rita Foods Co., Ltd., which operates the horse sashimi specialty store 'Kumamoto Basashi Dot Com,' conducted a special class for high school students on the theme of 'Eating and Receiving Life.' The class was held for 25 students at Kumamoto City Hitsuyukan High School, using Kumamoto's traditional food, horse meat, and specialized soy sauce as teaching materials. Through dialogue based on real-life experiences, the company supported the students' career development and fostered a love for their region by discussing the responsibility of taking a life and ways of working that contribute to society while preserving local traditions. In the lecture, founder Kurasaki stood at the podium to explain the social significance of 'why we continue to protect the traditional food of horse meat,' rather than just talking about business success, covering the origins of the business, past struggles, and bonds with local producers. The class included a company introduction by HR, a lecture by the representative, and an experience of 'cutting,' 'plating,' and 'eating' horse meat, allowing students to learn about the blessings of the region and the sanctity of life through their five senses. Director Kotaro Kurasaki stated, 'Work is a means to make someone happy. Because we know the severity of a job that involves taking a life, we have a responsibility to put our soul into connecting Kumamoto's food culture.'
