The Royal Park Hotel (Location: 2-1-1 Nihonbashi-Kakigara-cho, Chuo-ku, Tokyo; General Manager: Koichi Ozawa) held a free event, "Let's Learn! SDGs at the Hotel 2026," on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, for new 5th-grade students from the nearby Nihonbashi and Arima elementary schools.

Royal Park Hotel x Dole Host a Free Event to Deliciously Learn About SDGs

This event, aimed at raising awareness of the hotel's and other companies' efforts toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), has been held annually for local elementary school students since 2023, marking its fourth installment this year. Continuing from last year, in collaboration with Dole Japan, Inc. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Hiroshi Aoki), which also has its headquarters in the Nihonbashi area, we provided a program where participants could learn about initiatives for a sustainable society centered on "food" using their five senses.

Fun Introduction to Eco-Friendly Amenities and Food Waste Reduction Through Quizzes Our hotel staff gave a presentation with quizzes on initiatives corresponding to SDG goals such as "11: Sustainable Cities and Communities" and "12: Responsible Consumption and Production."

●Initiatives of Royal Park Hotels (25 hotels nationwide) using sustainable items. During a fun tour of the hotel, actual items such as amenities made from recycled plastic were introduced.

●Introduction of collaboration programs with local businesses in Nihonbashi and Ningyocho. Initiatives to promote the charm of the town, such as a program where guests can receive benefits by showing their room key at local shops.

●Introducing an example of recycling scraps into a popular product. Scraps from making the signature product "Fuwaterra" at the Sweets & Bakery "Iki" were introduced with a live demonstration. The process of transforming discarded parts into "Fuwaterrasque" was conveyed in an enjoyable way.

Introducing the "Mottainai Banana" Project, Where Bananas Discarded for Being Out of Spec are Deliciously Reborn A staff member from Dole took the stage to speak about the company's "Mottainai Banana Project." The children learned about the current situation and utilization examples of bananas that are still perfectly edible but are discarded for not meeting standard specifications.

Afterward, they tasted a "Mottainai Banana Mont Blanc" created by the hotel's pastry chef using these "mottainai bananas." The children...
