The Yumeji Art Museum (Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture; Director: Mitsunobu Kojima; Operated by: Ryobi Cultural Foundation) is hosting a special exhibition titled "Travel" at its branch, the "Yumeji Birthplace Memorial Museum and Shonen Sanso" (Setouchi City, Okayama Prefecture) to celebrate the museum's 60th anniversary.

Set against the backdrop of the thatched-roof "Yumeji Birthplace Memorial Museum"—the origin of Yumeji's art—and "Shonen Sanso," the reconstructed studio and residence of his later years, the exhibition features a collaboration with young Japanese painter Teruya Takehisa, a former "Child Curator" of the museum.

Yumeji was an artist who loved traveling, having painted across Japan and traveled to Europe and America in his later years. This exhibition focuses on Yumeji's works themed around travel, while also introducing works related to summer and his hometown.

Teruya Takehisa participated as a "Child Curator" in the museum's second term in 2013. He has developed a unique style of traveling and creating art using an "Atelier Car," a converted food truck. This exhibition explores the resonance between the works of Yumeji and Takehisa across different eras.
