Suzuki Herb Research Institute Co., Ltd. has begun new handling of hand creams developed and sold by the company, utilizing Ibaraki Prefecture's specialty products, at "THE BOTANICAL RESORT Rinne" (4369-1 To, Naka City, Ibaraki Prefecture), a "hotelable botanical garden." The handling started on June 8, 2026 (Mon). Three types of local hand creams are available.

Based in Tokai Village, Ibaraki Prefecture, Suzuki Herb Research Institute Co., Ltd. develops local cosmetics that utilize Ibaraki's specialty products with the desire to share the prefecture's charms with many people. These are sold on the company's website, at Ibaraki Prefecture's antenna shops, Ibaraki Airport, and roadside stations. Now, three products – "Kairakuen Plum Hand Cream," "Fukurai Mandarin Hand Cream," and "Lotus Flower Hand Cream" – have newly started handling at "THE BOTANICAL RESORT Rinne," Japan's first hotelable botanical garden.

This hand cream reproduces the scent of the "Shiro Kaga" plum variety, which is the most common in Kairakuen Park in Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture, and blooms from mid-February to late March every year. It offers a subtly sweet and sour, elegant fragrance.

Fukurai Mandarin Hand Cream

Fukurai mandarins, a specialty product from the foothills of Mt. Tsukuba in Ibaraki Prefecture, are characterized by their small size of about 3-4 cm and their fragrant peel. This product contains peel extract*1 from Fukurai mandarins cultivated in Sakuragawa City, Ibaraki Prefecture. It's a hand cream that releases a fresh Fukurai mandarin scent with every use.

Lotus Flower Hand Cream

Ibaraki Prefecture is Japan's top producer of "renkon" (lotus root), which is the underground stem of the lotus plant. Among the many lotus flower varieties, this hand cream contains lotus flower extract*2 from the Makoto lotus, a variety that blooms with pink flowers. It offers a pure and elegant lotus flower fragrance.
